Intro

The Fostering South West Podcast is a series designed to share real stories from foster carers, social workers, and young people across the region. Produced by The Hundred Hands, the series brings honesty, warmth, and humanity to a subject often spoken about in statistics rather than voices.

Objective

To create a podcast and video series that could both inform and inspire. The aim was to help potential foster carers understand the realities of fostering while giving current carers a sense of recognition and support.

Challenge

Fostering is a sensitive subject, requiring trust and careful storytelling. We needed to create a safe space for contributors to share openly while ensuring the production remained engaging and accessible for a wide audience across audio and video platforms

Result

The project delivered 18 full podcast episodes supported by 54 social reels, alongside custom graphics, thumbnails, high-end audio production, and a bespoke set build designed to give the series a professional, consistent look. In addition, we produced a full set of portraits, including headshots, group photos, and candid photography, captured on location in Weston-super-Mare. Over the course of the series we travelled throughout the South West, meeting foster carers and communities where they are. Building on this success, The Hundred Hands will also provide event filming for Fostering South West, expanding the reach of the project even further.
